Capt n Cons is a cool place to check out. There are many guest and staff that have experienced activity, such as being touched, tripped, and EVP's. SWFPI has investigated the place several times and picked up some cool EVP's. The food is good as well.

Another cool place to check out is Bermont Crossing. (State Road 74 and 31). For years I have heard stories about the Hitch Hiker, a half bodied apparition that appears infront of vehicles or on the side of the road.

People have stopped their vehicles thinking they just hit someone to find nothing there. Others would drive by to see folks standing by the road as if they wanted you to stop. Because the intersection is in the middle of no-where, most people would stop to lend a hand, only to find no-one around.

Truck drivers have also witnessed orb like balls glowing in the middle of the road. They would come to a stop only to see the light float across the road. The ball of light was normally spotted at night.

In 1994, a couple investigators from Tampa USF invited me to investigate the intersection with them. They captured an EVP stating "I'm hurt" and another saying "Not home yet". They also recorded EMF activity 200 ft from the intersection.

In 2005, LCGH, now SWFPI went back out to the intersection, but was unable to capture any activity due to truck traffic.

The best time to check out the intersection is on Saturday night. The truck drivers are off duty. A good start time is 10:00pm into early morning. You can see cars from a distance so you will have plenty of time to get off the road. Safety traffic vest is also a must. Cars and trucks do travel fast out there. The burnt out restaurant is a good place to check out and park.

Bermont Crossing has a history of tragic accidents with multiple deaths. They have since added street lights and the area is well lit. The lights may affect EMF readings.

Have fun.

Rich

The is also an old cemetary in el jobean

Unmarked, leased convict graves dating from 1877 to 1923, may also exist at the El Jobean Cemetery. County prisoners, most of them African-Americans, were leased as laborers to railroad, turpentine and lumber companies during this period of Florida's history. Several Charlotte County residents have memories of visiting these camps in the early 1920's and seeing flogging posts and hearing of prisoners who were treated as slaves, dying of abuse and beatings.

You know, out of all the places in the world, I would love to go to AREA 51.
Reason for this is because everyone has heard the stories, but no one really has the proof. I think it's time the public should know..LOL

That is a place I'd love to see...But I think they have a sign that says trespassers can (or will) be met with deadly forces.
Eeek! Thats quite final in my mind!!

I suggested going to St. Augustine before, and Spaz said they charge a $2000 fee to investigate there!! Still wanting to go, our team has been discussing a possible visit this summer w/ another paranormal group, or two, to split the costs with.
The lighthouse area is very large and spread out, so we could still have a good investigation there, even with many others there.
I agree w/ Stuart that there are many other areas in that town that would be just as interesting to investigate. This whole town is paranormal, it seems!!
Maybe we could make a roadtrip out of it, and camp close by. Since we will all probably be too broke to get a hotel room!!
Might be fun to make it a type of convention, for paranormal researchers like ourselves! Talk about scary campfire stories! Whooo-wee!

Yeah, we did Capt Cons. Here is the link to our site where we placed the summary of the investigations. If we posted the full report the general public would fall asleep lol but i also added the suspected EVPs captured, really not EVPs they were audible to everyone.

http://www.swfpionline.com/

Just go to the investigations menu and select "Capt’n Con’s Fish House"

Morgan, Stuart has a question for you, can you email me your phone number. I will relay it to Stuart, it deals with something that is bugging him about capt'n con's, he feels that maybe a young child crossed over there and would like to ask you some questions about it.

Hello FLGrLGHoSTChAsER Very Happy ,

That plantation goes back further than that. The land around it goes back some 1100-1800 years ago. It sounds like it would be very interesting.

Letchworth Mounds Archaeological Park is not far from Old fields plantation
It is believed that the Weeden Island Culture occupied this area between 200 and 800 A.D. So you never know what could be going on at the plantation Shocked

I live in Port Saint Lucie, so of coarse i was wondering if anybody has investigated around here? The Pace Center for Girls sounds like a good place, it is located in Ft. Pierce. Also there is a large Antique building 2 floors to be exact and apparently there are noises and the smell of someone smoking a cigar on the 2nd floor etc.. Boston House has a long history of hauntings. There is also many supposed hauntings on Indian River Drive in Ft.Pierce/Jensen Beach. Oak Hammock Park in P.S.L is of great interest as well. There are many opportunities here... ;)

PostPosted: Tue Feb 05, 2008 9:36 pm    Post subject: The Flint House in Buckingham Reply with quote

There is a house on the corner Buckingham and Bird Road that is supposedly haunted. My husband is posting the full details of his exerience there. My experience was not nearly as horrific as his, but it was an experience none the less. I visited the house in 1998 with a co- worker and her 3 year old daughter. I felt a sense of dread the minute I stepped foot in the house. We went all through the house and looked in every nook and cranny. There was a dilapitated shed out back that we could not will ourselves to open. It was almost like there was a force rooting our feet to the ground. For weeks after the visit, my friends daughter kept talking about the family in that house and would write the same series of numbers on everything. She would explain that the numbers were the family. We never knew what she was talking about and she would become frustrated if we pressed her for more.

I did some research and found that the house was built in 1930 by the Flint family. The Flint's were early Lee County pioneers and they owned much of what is now Lehigh Acres many decades prior to Lee Ratner staking his claim on Lehigh. Several Flint family members are buried in the Buckingham cemetery. It was in Flint family hands until 1998. It changed hands several times between 1998 and 2001 when it was purcahsed by the Lee Trust for Historic Preservation. They sold it to a private citizen in 2002. The house was completely remodeled and is currently on the market.

I have also spoken with several residents of the surrounding community. This appears to be a local urban ledgend. I've not talked to one person who doesn't believe the house is haunted. Several people say they remember hearing about something terrible that happned there, but no one seems to remember what the terrible thing was.
